The wireless AfterShokz Bluetooth headphones are a match made in heaven for many active people. But what about those active people which are using an iPod or a classic MP3-player? Wouldn’t it be great if also these people could benefit from the various bone conduction benefits? AfterShokz took this into account and developed the wired AfterShokz Sportz Titanium. Curious as always, we decided to also put these headphones to the test. A few days later our mailbox contained a black Sportz Titanium with microphone. Time to test! Just like his big brother the Trekz Titanium the Sportz Titanium is shipped in a neat and good-looking box. The handy storage bag is also a standard accessory. What is bone conduction?
Bone conduction is a technology and process whereby sounds are transmitted by means of vibrations. These vibrations are transmitted through your skull instead of through the air and your outer ears. We were also pleasantly surprised by the wearing comfort and stability of the Sportz Titanium. Especially during some of our more extreme activities like mountain biking and skiing the headphones didn’t move an inch.

The Sportz Titanium has been developed with the PremiumPitch+ technology, just like its wireless brother. This innovative technology ensures a more dynamic sound and a richer bass. The ultimate objective, a high-quality sound quality, has been achieved this way. Equaling the sound quality of in-ear headphones will always remain a challenge for bone conduction headphones. Nevertheless, we can confirm the sound quality clearly moves towards the classic headphones sound quality. Our personal opinion: the Sportz Titanium produces a very good sound quality. After all, safety is still the priority for these headphones.
AfterShokz Sportz Titanium Review: the cable
The main difference between the Sportz Titanium and the wireless Bluetooth Trekz Titanium is the cable. The Sportz cable is about 4 ft or 120 cm long and has been equipped with a remote control. This remote control allows the user to easily adjust the volume, without having to pull out the battery. The battery is a very small and lightweight battery which is located near to the audio jack. This location adds to the wearing comfort of these headphones.
The cable makes use of a standard audio jack. So it can be easily connected to your iPod, iPhone, MP3-player or older smartphone.
